We feel pleasure to interact with you and welcome to Government Degree College Kanda. The college is located in remote area of Uttarakhand to provide higher education platform to the youth of adjoining area of Kanda Tehsil of Bageshwar district. Our college was established in 2006 to fulfill the larger interest of local stakeholders. Initially, it was offering course in faculty of commerce. Subsequently, courses in faculty of the Arts and Science have been offering since 2009 and 2019 respectively. At present our college holds out all the courses of commerce, Science and Art in UG and PG level. Our college is recognized by University Grants Commission under section 2 (F) of the UGC act 1956 and affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttarakhand and running under the guidance of Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand as well. The college is receiving financial assistance from state government and RUSA programme.

The aim of our college is to provide perfect learning environment to the students through highly qualified faculty members. Most of our faculty is young and committed to providing qualitative education keeping in view of welfare of the students. It is the collective responsibility of the teachers and students to develop a conducive environment to foster the growth of intellectually sound, innovative youth and promote the values of democracy, national integration, communal harmony and social equality. Currently more than 250 students are registered for degree courses in various subjects. Keeping in view the employability and overall development college offers various skill oriented programs such as e-quiz, poster and slogan competition, social and cultural programmes etc. Moreover, our college also conducting various programs for societal welfare viz, “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao”, “Save Himalaya”, “Think Clean and Go Green”.

So let us come forward to think and act rationally and develop a scientific temper by adopting a scientific approach so as lead ahead to the path of knowledge. Our aim is importantly to provide stress free and mannered education to student. Our emphasis is to equip the young and budding talent with superior knowledge, quality skills and personal attributes. This can be achieved by creating and developing scientific and rational temper among the students. We are using various audio visual mode, online classes, LCD projector for more effective learning. I am optimistic and very much pleased to be associated with this collage and I am sure it will achieve new heights in future.
