The Department of Botany was started with Undergraduate Programme (B.Sc.) in 2019. At the time of start, it was affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital.  Currently it is affiliated to Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora. The department is dedicated to the study of plants and their various aspects. It serves as a source of knowledge, exploration, and innovation in the field of botanical sciences. The department’s vision is to foster a deeper understanding of the plant kingdom and its role in the ecosystem, ultimately contributing to the betterment of society and the environment. At present, one assistant professor, one lab assistant and one lab attendant are working in the department.
