The commencement of the department of English in Government Degree College Kanda, Bageshwar was in the year of 2009 with the undergraduate programme(B.A.). At first it was affiliated to Kumaun University Nainital. But in the present time it is affiliated to Soban singh Jeena University, Almora. The Vision of the department of English is to build confidence among the students in both written and spoken forms. The mission of the department of English is to introduce the students to the various concepts relating to comparative study of literature and language.
