The Youth Red Cross Program is started in GDC, Kanda From session 2022-2023. Dr. Uma Pandey Padalia (Assistant Professor; Education) is coordinator of Youth Red Cross Committee of the college. She is also State member (Kumaon Region) of Youth Red Cross Committee. Currently 34 students from the college are registered in the Youth Red Cross Committee.
Youth Red Cross Activities:
- Session 2022-2023: Red Cross unit started in GDC, Kanda from 21/09/2022. At that time 51 students were registered in YRC unit. During the session three YRC volunteer from the college were participated in state level 3-days training on First-Aid and disaster management and got 2nd prize in Nukkad-Natak (AIDS awareness).
Session 2023-2024:
Activity 1: On 15/02/2024, a demonstration of First-Aid was presented by YRC volunteer at the NSS camp of the college.
Activity 2:Â On 08/05/2024, celebrated the World Red Cross Day.
Activity 3: Dated 21/10/2024, one day national conference on disaster management and disaster risk reduction in Himalayan region sponsored by Indian Red Cross Society, State branch, Uttarakhand.
Session 2024-2025:
Activity 1: Celebrate the “Water Day” and cleanliness camp on 22/03/2025 by YRC volunteers of the college.
