The department of Geology of Government Degree College, Kanda was established in 2019. Initially, it was affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital. Currently it is affiliated to Soban Singh Jeena University, Almora. It offers Geoogy as a major subject for the three-year Undergraduate Degree Program. The course aims to provide the basic understanding of the fundamental Geology. Geology is study of earth. It deals with identification
of minerals, rocks, and fossils provide insights into the age, composition, structure, and
paleoenvironment of the Earth, and life that thrived on it through the geological ages.
